Hello,

The GOP is poised to send the American Health Care Act to the House of Representatives on Thursday.    The bill as written will have far a reaching impact on the children we serve.   NASN has been clear we do not support caps on Medicaid payments which will be devastating to schools and children, particularly those children living in poverty and those with disabilities.

It is imperative that we take action now to stop America’s most vulnerable children from losing vital healthcare services in schools.  School nurses know by name the children who may be affected.

Call your Representative and Senator to urge them to reject legislation that places arbitrary caps on how much Medicaid funding a child receives.  Call the House and Senate switchboard and ask to be connected to your Congressman and Senator at 202-224-3121.

Attached are talking points to help communicate your message.   Also attached is a letter template to mail or email to your legislators.

Children are our future.  This matters!

Beth
