2016 New England School Nurse Conference
The conference will held April 29 through May 1, 2016 at the regal Mystic Marriott in Groton CT. Special
room rates have been negotiated. The hotel is centrally localized to many area attractions including
beautiful downtown Mystic, Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Seaport, Groton Air Force Base, Foxwoods and
Mohegan Sun casinos, and outlet shopping. In addition, the Red Door Spa is located within the Hotel and
attendees will receive a 20% off coupon with their conference registration!
In addition to the conference, your registration will also include breakfast and lunch and 2 breaks on
Saturday. Breakfast is also included for the attendees of Sunday morning sessions. We hope that you
will arrive on Friday night, visit the ASNC Hospitality Suite and stay all week-end. There is free parking at
the Mystic Marriot. We are striving to provide a high quality conference in a lovely venue.

The title of the conference will be "School Nurses- Waves of Change, Oceans of Opportunity".

The NESNC objectives include:
1) Improve collaborative partnerships at the local, state, and regional level to improve the school
nurse's practice in school health.
2) Provide multiple educational opportunities to regional school nurses that promote health and
disease prevention for self, students, and the school community.
3) Provide current research and evidence based information to attendees.
The Association of School Nurses of CT is an accredited provider of continuing education by the CT
Department of Education.

Attendees will receive 1 contact hour for each 60 minutes of attendance in educational sessions. Attendance at Saturday sessions will provide 5 contact hours, attendance at Sunday sessions will provide an additional 2.25 contact hours, for a total of 7.25 contact hours for the conference. School nurses who are Nationally Certified will be able to apply the contact hours to their certification.

Speakers have been selected by the Speaker committee. We are very excited to announce that the CT
NESNC will offer 3 keynote speakers. In addition, 4 selections for breakout sessions will be available in
both the morning and afternoon sessions on Saturday plus 3 selections will be available on Sunday
morning.
This conference will enable you to attend education sessions that are directly applicable to your work. It
will also make it possible for you to build a professional network with school health experts and
colleagues from around the region
