Position Description

Practice Manager,  Occupational Health

The ideal candidate would be a Registered Nurse experienced in Occupational Health, has experience in management in a hospital or outpatient clinic setting.  We are a small Occupational Health Clinic that provides health care services to employers and employees of Midcoast Maine.  The individual would promote Occupational Health Associates mission on providing quality and compassionate healthcare.

 

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of Occupational Health Associates to include human resource management, operations management, quality assurance, marketing and oversee clinic, administrative, and rehab departments.
  • Minimum of (3) years management/leadership experience.
  • Formulates policy and procedure about the functioning of the organization.
  • Works collaboratively with Finance Manager regarding financial issues and oversight of growth of the company.
  • Maintains current knowledge on State and Federal labor laws, oversees performance evaluations and concerns. Maintains up to date personnel policies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of laws on regulations that govern occupational and environmental health and safety.
  • Medical knowledge regarding Medical Monitoring and Surveillance requirements.
  • Responsible for employee safety training, OSHA, CDC, HIPAA guidelines.
  • Oversee Clinical EMR, and provider prescribing program.
  • Assist clinical/financial/rehab leaders on medico-administrative problems and responsibilities.
  • Oversee management team regarding quality patient care, implement change to maintain evidence-based practice, and provide transformation so that effective solutions can be made, along with enforcement of policy and procedures.
  • Case management/rounds, provider collaboration to improve health outcomes for patients.
  • Computer literacy, and work independently. (Word, Excel, Systoc)

  • Demonstrates a positive energetic approach, team-player and natural leadership capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize time and tasks efficiently and effectively for self and others
  • Ability to develop trust and strong working relationships

 

Requirements of the Job:

  • Bachelor’s Registered Nurse or Health Care Science with occupational health experience preferred, AAOHN a plus. Must have management level experience as a health care leader.
  • Full time, 40 hours a week, days, M-F
