NASN message to the EPA

Posted over 5 years ago by Patricia Endsley

Dear MASN/NASN members,

The following statement from NASN has been sent to the EPA and has been posted on our various social media sites.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Children's Health Protection (OCHP)

NASN expresses concern that the Office of Children's Health Protection (OCHP) within the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is being downgraded in its stature within the agency. Children face dangers from days spent in aging schools, exposure to lead in their water, and other indoor environmental quality concerns. A healthy learning environment in schools reduces absenteeism, improves test scores, and enhances student and staff productivity. The EPA OCHP is one of the few offices within our government that is solely devoted to children. We urge EPA to continue this important office…for the current and future health of children and adolescents.
