National Certified Nurses Day

NBCSN would like to congratulate all NCSNs on this, National Certified Nurses Day.

The National Board for Certification of School Nurses (NBCSN) endorses the concept of voluntary certification by examination for all school nurses. Professional certification in school nursing provides an ongoing, quality credentialing process for eligible school nurses. Certification represents a national standard of preparation, knowledge, and practice. To assist with this recognition, the NBCSN provides the opportunity for school nurses to set the standards for their specialty area through voluntary professional certification.

Certification verifies your competence and supports the delivery of safe and effective care and positive outcomes for our students.
What is Certified Nurses Day?
Certified Nurses Day is a national day to honor and recognize the important achievements of Certified Nurses.
Certified Nurses Day is March 19, the birthday of Margreta 'Gretta' Madden Styles, the renowned expert of nurse credentialing. Styles designed the first comprehensive study of nurse credentialing and as an accomplished advocate for nursing standards and certification, Styles spent more than two decades advancing nursing practice and regulation.
We hope you enjoy your day, be proud of your accomplishment and display your credential proudly.
While you are thinking about it, take a minute to visit www.nbcsn.org and update your account information.  Remember you can input your CE credit information at any time during your recertification cycle. Do it gradually, it will save stress at the time of recertification.
